Data Mining Research Intern: Unsupervised clustering

Data mining researchers at Bosch Research and Technolgy Center, North America create advanced statistical models to analyze patient health and electronic medical records. We are looking for an enthusiastic student to join our team this summer in addressing the challenge of clustering heterogenous data. The intern will play a major role in defining the algorithms in theory, implementing in code, and testing on both real and simulated data available at Bosch Research.

Required skills:

  • Currently pursuing a MS or PhD (or German diploma) in CS or related fields
  • Strong background in machine learning and data mining 
  • Familiarity with  unsupervised and clustering methods
  • Experience working with large-scale, high-dimensional data sets
  • Strong programming experience in C++/Python/Matlab

Desired skills:

  • Demonstrated successful application on heterogeneous data
  • Familiarity with models for mixed-type sparse data
