Each functional area within Bosch has specific technical competencies identified for organizational and associate development. These competencies drive technical excellence across all Bosch businesses. In addition, we provide common social and leadership competency developmental experiences for all associates at various levels within the Bosch organization. These common developmental curriculums include:
StART
Standardized Associate Readiness Training
StART is a development program targeted for professional level associates across North America. The overriding goal is that each associate has the skills necessary to produce results and maximize effectiveness on the job. Topics include project management, problem solving, personal and team effectiveness and business communication. In addition to consistent associate training across North America, Bosch's performance management processes identify training and development needs that are unique to the job and the individual.
LeaD
Leadership Development Program
LeaD is a worldwide management development curriculum. It is focused on providing leaders a foundation of skills to ensure high quality leadership throughout the organization. As a rule, LeaD comes at the beginning of a manager's career - whether in a project or line capacity. All managerial level associates are welcome to participate in LeaD to develop and enhance their leadership skills. Associates who are new to a management position either through promotion or through external hire are required to participate in LeaD.
ExceeD

The courses are designed to provide enhancement to strategic leadership, stimulate high quality networking relationships among executives within and outside of Bosch, and implement best practices for leading change and innovation. Career Planning
Every associate has the ability to update their personal skills profile and communicate their career interests via the Bosch intranet at any time during the year. In addition, integrated into the performance review process is an assessment of each associate's individual strengths and development needs. These two systems drive Bosch's succession planning system and facilitates associate development and advancement.
