# of Openings: 1
Degree Level: Master, PhD
Major(s): Computer Science (Computer Networks, Software Engineering)
Targeted Skills: The intern should have general understanding of wireless network based application development, an experience in the software development.
Required skills:
- Experience in software development using Java programming language
- Experience of XML related technologies
- Experience in Graphical User Interface design development using Eclipse plug-in
- Knowledge on Software Engineering principles
Preferable skills:
- Experience of the Eclipse plug-in development environment
- Network modeling and simulation using OPNET
- Experience in integration of tools
- Experience in Database systems
Duties/ Tasks: The intern will work on the development of the generic framework which integrates tools used for wired/wireless network applications at Bosch. The intern will first develop the software architecture by exploring use-cases over various tools, define interfaces and implement the proposed solutions. The framework should be Java, Eclipse Plug-Ins and XML files will be used to communicate with a commercial network modeling and simulation tool (OPNET). The framework will incorporate all the tools from configuration of initial systems (consisting of many nodes), protocol development, simulation and deployment. Thus, very good skills and strategies to integrate all tools efficiently are highly preferred.
Part-time (e.g., 20 hrs/week) is acceptable and extended internship (>3 months) is strongly encouraged.
