Bosch's emission-reducing diesel engine technology includes high-pressure common rail and exhaust aftertreatment systems for improved performance and superior fuel economy, also for long distance driving. Clean diesel technology combines clean diesel fuel, advanced engines and effective exhaust control technology into a more efficient, environmentally friendly and fun vehicle to drive.
In comparison to gasoline port-fuel injection, the latest generation common rail system from Bosch, powered by piezo-inline technology, increases fuel economy by more than 30 percent, reduces carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by nearly 25 percent and increases torque by 50 percent.
"Bosch has been developing for more than three decades various systems to make diesel engines clean and extremely fuel efficient," said Bernd Boisten, regional president, Diesel Systems North America, Robert Bosch LLC. "We continue our efforts and will develop and manufacture diesel systems to meet the growing U.S. market for clean diesel technology."
