1.0 HP Colt™ Palm Router line
Mount Prospect, IL, May 10, 2005 – Bosch Power Tools and Accessories, a division of the Robert Bosch Tool Corporation, changed the nature of small routers and “laminate trimmers” forever with the introduction of its 1.0 HP Colt™ Palm Router line, the first small routers to offer power, precision, versatility and comfort. The new tool will launch this summer in a basic single-speed model (PR10E) and in a variable-speed router kit (PR20EVSK), followed by an installer’s kit with multiple bases (PR20EVSNK) in Fall 2005.
For installers, remodelers, deck builders, framers, contractors, carpenters, countertop and laminate fabricators, custom furniture and cabinetmakers, store fixture manufacturers
and serious DIYers, the Bosch Palm Routers offer enhanced application opportunities beyond anything ever experienced from small routers.
With 1.0 HP (max) output and 5.7 AMP, the PR10E and PR20EVS offer unprecedented power in their class. The PR10E powers 35,000 RPM (no load) for fast smooth routing in various materials, while the PR20EVS boasts speeds ranging from 16,000 to 35,000 RPM for materials and tasks that require speed flexibility.
Both models offer soft-start to reduce start-up torque and Constant Response™ electronics to maintain speed under load for smooth and accurate cuts and overload protection.
The enhanced comfort of the Bosch Palm Routers is achieved through a specially designed ergonomic-shaped motor housing and base. Bosch-exclusive finger support pockets
on the front of each tool base provide added stability. The PR20EVS also features soft-grip for even more comfort.
Standard to all Bosch fix-based routers and often copied, these new models feature the Bosch router quick-clamp system plus advanced quick macro and microfine depth adjustment systems to save time and frustration. The
rugged aluminum base is durable, solid and precise.
Other features include a spindle lock for easy one-wrench bit changes, self-releasing collet for ¼-inch shank bits, a durable phenolic subbase, imperial and metric fine adjustment scales, angled cord exit and externally accessible brush caps.
