Held during the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the four-day event featured more than 30 industry speakers and about 1,000 high-powered attendees. The Congress is an unparalleled opportunity to reach top level decision-makers.
The 29th annual conference included speeches by the industry’s leading automotive executives as they shared their insights on this year’s theme, “Life in the Fast Lane: The Pace of Global Competition.”
One such speech was made by Robert Bosch LLC chairman, president and CEO, Peter Marks, who remarked
For us, our founder's mindset – a global vision open to
opportunity across the world – is still valid today.
But we don't view our global activities as a "fast lane"
approach to globalization.
Instead, we view them as the "right lane" approach – in
other words, the lane that takes you in the right direction.
The Bosch approach to globalization can best be
described as:
- early entry,
- long-term vision, and
- having the patience and stamina to invest in innovation
well in advance of market rewards.
Other automotive executives’ speeches also addressed key trends in the automotive industry, and what winning companies must do to ensure their role in the future of the industry.
