Required Skills:

  • Experience in web services development using Service Oriented Architecture ( SOA), including SOAP, WSDL, J2EE, XML
  • Very good understanding of the state-of-the-art in SOA, Web Servers including Axis2, Tomcat
  • knowledge and experience in wireless protocols
  • Fluent skills in using database systems
  • good Software engineering skills

Preferable Skills:

  • Experience of the web based graphical user interface design by using off-the-shelf software products

Duties/Tasks:

The intern will develop the software framework and services applications) for the home health care domain which manages the activities and behavior of patients living independently at home. the software services include the monitoring of activities by analyzing the data gathered from connected devices. The software framework will supports the development of software services as well as runtime environment for the services. the target system consists of heterogeneous embedded devices ( e.g. wireless sensors, RFID, that connects to a standard IT based platform using various communication protocols ( WLAN, LRWPAN, GSM, NFX, Bluetooth). He/She will identify key requirements for the given use-cases and environment, refine the software architecture and design for the software framework and services that uses standard IT technologies such as SOAP, WSDL, J2EE, and Web servers, and implement proposed solutions.
