Targeted Skills: The intern should have experience in embedded software development

Required Skills:

  • Hands-on experience developing/debugging embedded software (using C)
  • ability to read/understand electronic schematics
  • Ability interface embedded systems to senors/actuators
  • Hands-on experience with wireless sensor (interfacing and software development)
  • Experience troubleshooting (wireless) distributed applications
  • Web page design experience
  • Ability to work independently

Preferable Skills:

  • Experience/knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture including SOAP, WSDL

Duties/Tasks: The candidate will design, implement and test both the hardware and software for a prototype to demonstrate the feasibility of adding new features/functionality to an already existing product. The product comprises wireless sensor nodes as well as a gateway used for communication with and controlling the wireless sensor. the new feature/functionality will be existing gateway software to support the new senors/actuators. Additionally, a web interface will be added to gateway to support remote monitoring and control of the system.
