Duties/Tasks: Development of a generic tool (in Matlab) for simulation of MAC layer protocols.  The tool would primarily be focused on IEEE 802.15.4 solutions (at MAC Layer) with simple physical layer models.  The candidate should be able to define tool interface and components.  Development of the simulation tool (components) in Matlab.  Evaluation of new MAC protocols using the development simulation tools and potential to extend the tool to 802.11 based standards.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Expert in Matlab programming and GUI development in Matlab
• Familiarity with MAC protocol
• Familiarity with wireless sensor network protocol
• Familiarity with NS2, OPNET, and other network simulation programs
• Familiarity with wireless standards: IEEE802.15.4, 6LoWPAN, ZigBee, IEEE802.11
