Duties/Tasks:  Evaluation/comparison of available open-source Access Point software implementations in terms of provided features, requirements for development environment and simplicity of changing implementation.  Literate survey on available AP based solutions for using APs as relay nodes, AP-to-AP communication mechanisms and means of easy hand-off mechanisms.  Development of a simple proof of concept demonstrator showing the development ideas using Wi-Fi based sensor boards.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Familiarity with existing IEEE 802.11 wireless technologies
• Good knowledge on PHY/MAC layers
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP and network protocols
• Strong computer skills in embedded C/C++ programming
