Major (s): Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science

Duties/Tasks: The intern(s) will be responsible for identifying new devices to aid in providing notifications to affected individuals in case of an emergency situation.  Once identified, the devices will be integrated with an existing mass notification system.  Depending on the identified device(s), the integration effort may require, in addition to software support, the addition of electrical interface circuitry to facilitate interaction with the mass notification system.

Knowledge and Skills:

• C/C++ software development for resource-constrained systems
• Embedded software development and hands-on debugging/testing
• Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOAP/REST)
• Development of hardware for embedded system prototypes and interface circuitry
