In 2011, we are celebrating the 125th anniversary of the founding of Robert Bosch GmbH. Over the years, Bosch has grown into a leading global engineering company with many activities in energy technologies. With our slogan “Invented for life”, we are dedicated to the responsible usage of energy and stewardship of the environment.
In conjunction with our anniversary, the Bosch Group is launching a new initiative. Expanding the company's higher education funding, the Bosch InterCampus Program aims to achieve lasting improvements in research conditions for undergraduates and scientists in the university sphere, thereby accelerating progress in the highly promising fields of the environment, energy, and mobility. As a part of the InterCampus Program, we are very excited to launch the Bosch Energy Research Network in North America, an eight-year, 7.2 million euro (approximately $10 million) project aimed at promoting energy research and education. This program also focuses on building relationships with top faculty researching energy topics, and attracting the best engineering talent.
In North America, the project will fund 20 new university research grants in transformative energy technology and approximately 200 internships in the general area of energy topics.
