Struth also is a member of the board of management of Robert Bosch GmbH, headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, with responsibility for the region North and South America.

He began his career at Bosch in 1989 as a manufacturing engineer, and has been president of the Chassis Systems Control division since 2005. Before that, Struth, who had trained and taken his doctorate as a mechanical engineer, was responsible for the company's brakes business in Japan and later for Bosch's worldwide diesel manufacturing operations.
